[link removed] [[link removed]]John,

As Council President, I’m deeply committed to creating pathways to opportunity and prosperity for every Philadelphian. That’s why expanding workforce development in our city is such a priority for me.

My latest efforts are not just about meeting a quota or a number — they are about leveraging our city’s resources and providing folks from disadvantaged communities with jobs to sustain themselves and their families.

My goal is to ensure that everyone in Philly has a fair chance to participate in and benefit from the city’s growth. Our city’s projects MUST reflect the rich diversity of our communities, John — add your name if you agree. [[link removed]]

We have powerful examples to follow, John.

In 2015, the developers behind the Live! Casino project made a groundbreaking commitment to diversity — by 2021, the developers had achieved 63% minority participation in both construction and operations.

This was the first agreement of its kind and has since served as a model for several other developments in Philly’s 2nd District.

Now, I’m still using my voice to continue advocating for those who don’t have a seat at the table. We must be intentional in pushing for diversity, equity, and inclusion in our city’s business practices.

Sign on if you agree: We must continue to prioritize diversity and inclusion in every project and decision we make. [[link removed]]

Because everyone in Philly deserves the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Thank you,

Kenyatta Johnson
Council President, City of Philadelphia
