Major news from a crucial swing state. An abortion rights amendment has officially made it onto the ballot this November.

Huge news out of Arizona, Indivisibles. The reproductive freedom amendment we’ve been organizing our hearts out to get on the ballot this November was just certified.

After all the Republican legislature’s shenanigans -- the reinstatement of a Civil War-era TOTAL abortion ban earlier this year, followed by its replacement by a 15 week ban -- Arizona voters will have a chance to make abortion a constitutional right in Arizona.

If you’re not in Arizona, you might be thinking, “great -- but what does this have to do with me?” And with reproductive freedom under threat in all 50 states, that’s a valid question.

The answer is: This ballot initiative could help restore reproductive rights not just in Arizona, but nationwide. From Ohio to Wisconsin, we’ve seen that when abortion rights are on the ballot, people turn out. And in 2024 there’s nowhere turnout will be more important than in Arizona -- a state with two flippable House seats, a state legislature up for grabs, a vital Senate race, and must-win Electoral College votes.

Huge turnout in Arizona could help us elect Kamala Harris, retake the House, and win a real Senate majority willing to reform the filibuster so we can codify reproductive rights for every American.

Getting this amendment on the ballot was just a first step. Now, we need to give our volunteers the resources they need to inform voters about this initiative and drive historic pro-choice numbers this November. Will you chip in to help us?

Those who’ve been with Indivisible for a while know, this amendment didn’t get on the ballot by itself. Our volunteers worked through stifling Arizona heat and dense mountain snow to collect 32,064 signatures. They hosted over 70 signature gathering events, knocked over 4,500 doors, and trained 1,125 signature gatherers to make this happen.

All that work was made possible thanks to grassroots support from many of you. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this effort.

Now, the work starts anew, but we’re not starting from scratch. We have an army of volunteers and trained leaders ready to get first-time voters to the polls to pass this initiative. And all our data shows that those voters are more likely to support pro-choice candidates like Ruben Gallego and Kamala Harris when they cast their votes for reproductive freedom.

In a state where the polling average shows Harris leading by only .3 points, every vote we can muster matters.

So today, we’re asking you to invest in our grassroots organizers in Arizona. Help them finish the job, restore abortion access in Arizona, and deliver Democratic majorities that will pass federal protections for our bodily autonomy.
