We know that the widespread health and economic impacts on our community expose the larger disparities that exist in our world. This past month has truly been one of the hardest to endure, but please know that you’re not alone. We will get through this together.
The Center remains as committed as ever to upholding our mission of advocating for and uplifting community, especially people of color, people living in poverty or experiencing homelessness, immigrants and all who are most marginalized and vulnerable during this difficult and unprecedented time. Our advocacy work promises to center the voices and needs of underrepresented populations; the very same people who need care and support right now. That’s why many of The Center’s programs and services have rapidly moved online, including our ESL courses, mental health counseling and expanded health insurance enrollment support. Learn more about our virtual services on our website.
We are grateful to have you as partners in the work that makes The Center a home to so many. If you are able to help, LGBTQ New Yorkers will continue to find the care and support they need through The Center. Your gift to The Center empowers community members all across New York and ensures LGBTQ people have a reliable place to turn today, tomorrow and every day. And thanks to a generous grant from The Calamus Foundation, all gifts will be matched up to $100,000 during our closure, giving all contributions twice the impact.
From all of us to you, stay safe and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting The Center.
With gratitude,
Trevon Mayers
Director of Policy & Community Outreach
