Supporting Digital Accessibility in the Public and Private Sectors
One in four people in the United States has some kind of disability and may rely on digital accessibility to participate in virtual spaces or engage in everyday tasks. But disabled people, including those from underserved communities, often experience issues of digital inequality, limiting their access to health care, education and government information. Employers in the public and private sectors can help by staying informed about evolving technologies and standards and by creating digital environments that are accessible to all. Each summer we celebrate the landmark Supreme Court decision in Olmstead v. L.C. and the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, two pivotal events in history that changed the experience of disabled people in the United States.
