Fellow Kansan,

Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! I am meeting with Kansans in the eastern half of the Big First this week in Riley, Jackson, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. Follow me on social media to see more of my work across the Big First.

I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America – I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That's what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come.

Yours in service,

Town Halls on Thursday

If it matters to a Kansan, it matters to me. I am excited to host the last two town halls of my annual 60-county Mann Listening Tour in Jackson and Jefferson counties this week. Since being elected to Congress in 2020, I've hosted 244 town halls that have given me the opportunity to meet with you, hear about the issues that are most important to you, and learn how I can serve you better in Congress.

If you are not able to make it to this week's town halls, be on the lookout for future dates when I will be in your community. I hope to see you there!

Painting the Contrasts of America's Future

The stark differences in the plans that Democrats and Republicans have for America’s future could not be more clear.

Republicans have laid out our vision to make America wealthy again, safe again, strong again, and to make America great once again. Meanwhile, Democrats overthrew President Biden from the presidential race and propped up Vice President Harris, the Chief Executive Officer of the border crisis and mastermind behind the Administration’s pro-abortion policies, as the Democrat nominee.

The contrast could not be clearer. The Republican party is the only party that is prepared to get America back on track.

Working to End Distracted Driving

Distracted driving is a serious issue that endangers everyone on the road. My staff met with the family of Cassy Kay Linder, who was tragically killed by a distracted driver in March 2023. Unfortunately, Cassy's story is one of many, as Kansas ranks second worst in the United States for the percentage of fatal crashes due to distracted driving. In the United States, someone is killed or injured in a drunk driving crash every 39 minutes, and an average drunk driver has driven drunk 80 times before their first arrest.

Cassy's parents, Todd and Rosa Linder, are working to spur action by advocating to reduce distracted driving. This year, I introduced the End DWI Act, which would create a national ignition interlock standard by encouraging states to adopt mandatory first-time offender ignition interlock laws, which would help reduce recidivism and improve road safety by ensuring fewer drunk drivers are on the road. This legislation is just one of many steps needed to reduce the number of fatal crashes in Kansas and ensure that America's roads are safe from distracted drivers.

Every life has value and is worthy of protection from harm. When driving, focus on the road so you and others can get home safely.

Another Record for America's Skyrocketing National Debt

Americans are footing the bill for the Biden-Harris Administration’s out-of-control spending and rampant inflation. Just this month, America's national debt surpassed a record $35 trillion, which translates to more than $104,000 per person and $266,000 per household.

It is past time to address our skyrocketing national debt. House Republicans are fighting to pass 12 individual, fiscally responsible, appropriation bills. The Biden-Harris Administration's spending is out of touch with the needs of Americans. Our country deserves better.

Celebrating 1 Million FFA Members

Congratulations to the National FFA Organization for reaching one million members! For nearly 100 years, FFA has supported the next generation of leaders in agriculture. My experience as a Quinter FFA chapter officer provided me with skills and memories that will last a lifetime, and I am proud to advocate for FFA members as a co-founder of the Congressional FFA Caucus. Thank you for your role in feeding, fueling, and clothing the world.
