Trump slurs through unhinged, glitchy Twitter interview with Elon Musk
The MAGA cult leader's nüTwitter interview with Elon Musk, which was delayed by more than 40 minutes due to embarrassing technical difficulties, descended into more of the deranged lunacy we've come to expect from the 78-year-old convicted felon. The meandering conversation, which lasted nearly two hours despite Musk's numerous attempts to end it, was filled with absurd tangents, slurred speech, unhinged personal attacks, and signature name-mangling that should be prompting across-the-board media coverage calling into question the disgraced ex-president's diminished mental capacities. Trump is the oldest candidate to ever secure a major party nomination for president, after all. Fair is fair.

Trump, benefactor of foreign hackers meddling in 2016 election, now deplores foreign hacking in US elections
News flash: Donald Trump and his presidential campaign firmly oppose foreign governments interfering in our elections via hacking, warning that any media which amplifies such ill-gotten documents would be "doing the bidding of America’s enemies." Such an anodyne sentiment would not ordinarily qualify as news but for the fact that a mere two presidential election cycles ago, the MAGA cult leader and his campaign happily did the bidding of America’s enemies by leveraging foreign leaks of hacked documents to harm Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. Funny how that works.

Ignorant GOP men fuel healthcare crisis for American women
314 Action Fund: There is not a single pro-choice OB/GYN in the entirety of the American Congress. But what there are in Congress are *lots* of are ignorant Republican men with no understanding of how the human body works, no conception of all the complications that can arise during a pregnancy, and no emapthy for the suffering and anguish that so many pregnant patients go through in America. That HAS to change, so 314 Action Fund is supporting over TWO HUNDRED pro-choice women with backgrounds in healthcare and science to fight alongside them to flip control of state legislatures and the GOP-held House. Will you chip in to help make sure that reproductive healthcare law is being written by people who actually know what they're doing?
GOP Rep. James Comer opens new probe into Kamala Harris
The Republican chair of the House Oversight Committee once again began abusing the power of his committee to support the Trump campaign by announcing yet another scurrilous and deeply wasteful investigation that will inevitably produce nothing but Fox News sound bytes and grandstanding performances. This time, Comer is going after Vice President Harris and *waves arms in a frightening manner* THE BORDER. Comer requested that the US Customs and Border Patrol turn over all correspondence with the vice president’s office, claiming that it was "unclear what actions, if any, Vice President Harris has taken to fix the border crisis" — which is definitely not her job and also neither the job of the CBP, which deals with day-to-day interactions with migrants at the border. Republicans have tried to paint Harris as the "border czar" based on her involvement with addressing the "root causes" of immigration from Central and South America, though seeing as they control the US House and can, ya know, pass legislation, any failure to take action actually rests on them.

Texas women denied abortions for ectopic pregnancies file federal complaints against hospitals
Thanks to incessant efforts by Republicans to restrict nearly all reproductive freedom in the country, women in Texas are suffering from an unconscionable lack of clarity and intentionally vague language regarding medical emergencies in the state's GOP-authored abortion laws. While Texas law technically allows doctors to terminate ectopic pregnancies, which are never viable and are the leading cause of maternal mortality during the first trimester, women are being denied the critical care they need, with devastating consequences. Attorneys with the Center for Reproductive Rights, an abortion rights advocacy organization that has been quite busy in Texas in the wake of SCOTUS' disastrous Dobbs decision in 2022, filed suits on behalf of two women nearly killed by ectopic pregnancies that required immediate, emergency care which they were both initially denied. To quote Tim Walz, a simple message to non-uterus-having Republican ideologues obsessed with other people's medical needs: "Mind your own damn business!"

Ben Sasse’s spending spree: Ex-senator and former University of Florida president channeled millions to GOP allies, secretive contracts
In his 17-month stint as University of Florida president, former Republican Sen. Ben Sasse more than tripled his office's spending, directing millions in university funds into secretive consulting contracts and high-paying positions for his GOP allies. Sasse ballooned spending under the president’s office to $17.3 million in his first year in office — up from $5.6 million in former UF President Kent Fuchs’ last year. Under Sasse’s administration, two of his former Senate staffers — Raymond Sass and James Wegmann — were among the highest-ranking and highest-paid officials at UF. Both worked remotely from the DC area, roughly 800 miles from UF’s main campus in Gainesville. Several other former Senate staffers also found cushy, high-paying, remote-work appointments under Sasse, who abruptly resigned from his post in July — leaving the future of his UF inner circle unclear. Grifters gonna grift.
RFK Jr. is struck from New York ballot over "sham" claim he lives in state
Robert F Kennedy Jr. has been struck from the presidential ballot in New York over his "sham" claim about his home residence — a move that has now crushed the roadkill horder's hopes of appearing on the ballot as a Trump-friendly spoiler candidate in all 50 states. On Monday, Justice Christina Ryba ruled that Kennedy had falsified documents listing himself as a New York resident when filing petition papers to be on the ballot in the state. Ryba concluded that the “address existed only on paper” and that his residence claim was for the “sole purpose of maintaining his voter registration and political standing” in the state. Pretty wild that this is by far the least interesting RFK Jr. story to break in a while. C'mon, Robert! We know you've still got some really zany rolled up those sleeves. Let us have it!

Lara Trump blames "deep state" for campaign hack and Musk-Trump interview glitch
Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump waltzed onto Sean Hannity's televised propaganda party last night and blamed the "deep state" for what she said was a "massive effort" to keep her father-in-law out of the White House. Lara Trump went on to claim — without evidence, of course the — that nefarious anti-Trump actors in the federal government gave "adversaries" like Iranian Trump campaign hackers a "free pass." She also blamed the technical difficulties the MAGA cult leader experienced on nüTwitter during his interview with Elon Musk on, yep, you guessed it, the deep state. Musk said the problems were caused by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, suggesting a deliberate attempt to derail the stream. Sources within X told The Verge that "there was a ’99 percent’ chance Elon was lying about an attack." Pretty sure we can round that up to a nice, even 100.
GOP House candidate blamed after handgun was stolen
Republican House candidate Alison Esposito’s off-duty firearm, police identification, and shield were stolen from her unlocked car in a 2016 incident that led to a reprimand by her superiors at the New York Police Department, according to documents obtained by POLITICO. It was recommended that Esposito, who is challenging first-term Democratic Rep. Pat Ryan in a crucial House district, be docked 20 vacation days for failing to safeguard the firearm, according to a disciplinary record. As a House candidate, Esposito has made public safety a centerpiece of her effort to unseat Ryan, a former US Army intelligence officer.
MAGA Colorado clerk found guilty of felony election tampering
Hey, would you look at that? Real-life, actual voter fraud...committed by...yet another Republican. Trump-obsessed county clerk and failed secretary of state candidate Tina Peters, who conspired with, why not, an investigator associated with MyPillow nimrod Mike Lindell, was found guilty on seven of ten charges on Monday, including four felony charges — including attempting to influence a public servant. As is so often the case, the smeller IS the feller.
