During an interview at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention, Donald Trump questioned Vice President Kamala Harris’ race by saying, “I didn't know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now, she wants to be known as Black."

What Trump said is more of the same: repeated lies, blatant attacks on our democratic institutions, and a deep disdain for Black Americans.

Trump is an agent of chaos and a wannabe dictator. We can’t let him win, John.

The GOP is falling in line with Trump’s toxic, racist rhetoric. Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, defended his comments about VP Harris, and House Republicans are calling her a “DEI hire.”

Trump and MAGA Republicans use this inflammatory, hateful rhetoric because they don’t have a vision for the future of our country to communicate with voters. That’s why they seek to divide us. As long as Trump has power, he will use it to pit people against each other and undermine our rights and democracy.

We can’t afford to go back to another four years of Trump in the White House and we can’t afford another two years of a GOP-controlled House Majority. 

The next few months will determine if we go backward or forward. If we’re going to chart our path forward, then we all need to get involved in whatever ways we can.
