Dear SPUC supporter,

The ongoing battle for the right to life faces yet another challenge as economic pressures are increasingly forcing women into making heartbreaking decisions.

A critical issue that has surfaced in recent years is the two-child limit on Universal Credit, a Government policy that disproportionately affects low-income families. This policy not only exacerbates financial stress but also plays a devastating role in influencing women’s decisions to abort their child.

Did you know that BPAS, one of Britain's biggest abortion providers, has identified that the Government’s punitive two-child Universal Credit limit is “a significant factor” in many women deciding to abort their child?

Research carried out by BPAS confirmed that, “Among women who were aware of the two-child limit and likely to be affected (women in receipt of Universal Credit or Tax Credits), 57% said that the policy was important in their decision-making around whether or not to continue the pregnancy.”

The two-child benefit cap targets the poor and vulnerable. Please help mothers choose life and overturn the cruel and punitive two-child benefit cap.
