Join the Arlington Chamber of Commerce for our pilot Virtual Happy Hour on Thursday, April 30, 2020 4:30 PM - 6:00 p.m. to unwind and connect with your fellow members. Hosted over the Zoom platform, this virtual meeting will give members a chance to connect and catch up while we are all socially distanced. Register soon, as spots are limited for this event.

Join us on Thursday, April 30 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. for a discussion of the CARES Act and other federal legislation to support businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic. Moore Hallmark, Vice President of Regional Affairs and Advocacy for the US Chamber, will join in a webinar hosted by the Arlington Chamber. This webinar will also include an interactive Q&A for attendees to participate in. Registration is free for Chamber members and $10 for nonmembers.

Last week, Congress passed an additional $310 billion in funding to restart the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) as well as approved $50 billion in new funding for the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program.

The Chamber compiled a list of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) lenders in the Chamber membership. Please check with your lender about applying. 

Keeping Your Business Cybersecure During COVID-19

This month’s Small Business Roundtable will focus on what the threats are right now, and how you can try to keep your company and employees secure as they work remotely. One of the biggest changes from a technical perspective is how one secures their business in this new era of telework being the norm. This event will inform attendees of the COVID-19 related malware, phishing, and other threats that have skyrocketed with thousands of domains registered and new threats seen daily.

Hear from the six Arlington School Board candidates, competing for two open seats, as they share their positions. The Chamber’s Education & Workforce Development Committee will discuss a range of topics with the candidates, including workforce preparedness and the role that the business community plays in Arlington Public Schools.

The participating candidates will be Cristina Diaz-Torres, Steven Krieger, Sandy Munnell, David Priddy, Terron Sims, and Symone Walker.

The Chamber partnered with Arlington CAN-DO to provide needed revenue to our restaurant and retail businesses, and to give the community a platform to be able to support these businesses. Businesses can register on the site to sell their gift cards and individuals can browse the site to purchase a gift card. To register, complete the form on the website or send an email to [email protected] with the name and email address of the primary contact person, the business name, and the link to the exact spot on the business’s website where gift cards are sold.

Arlington Arts Center donated "Anti-boredom Bundles" to Bridges to Independence's youth in shelter to keep them entertained and occupied while they are home due to COVID-19.
