Arena Community,
I’m Ravi Gupta, Co-Founder of Arena PAC, where we convene, train, and support the next generation of candidates and campaign staff.
Thank you for joining our community. Let me tell you a little more about our work.
Arena launched in the wake of the 2016 election—and since then, we’ve built a community of thousands of up-and-coming activists, volunteers, and candidates. We’ve also worked to support inspiring candidates up and down the ballot—candidates like Stacey Abrams, Alessandra Biaggi, and Lauren Underwood.
But throughout our candidate work in 2018, the same challenge kept coming up across the country: Candidates had trouble finding experienced campaign staff. In our 2018 election debrief survey, which was completed by 82 staff across 62 campaigns nationwide, 92% of campaign managers named staff management or hiring as their biggest challenge.
In response, we started the Arena Academy to invest in the next generation of political talent. We’re training hundreds of new staffers, majority women and people of color, to work campaigns in 2020. Most attendees are supported by need-based scholarships to remove the barriers to access and build a strong, diverse talent pipeline. Academy graduates have the skills, knowledge, and tools to build winning campaigns and movements.
Together, we’re building the next generation of candidates—and their campaign staff.
Our Arena candidates and Arena Academy grads are ready to step up and move our democracy forward. And they need your help to cross the finish line.
Will you take the next step and chip in what you can to support this work? Every dollar counts.
Our purpose is simple: elect the next generation of candidates and transform the American political system. But we can’t do it without the support of people like you—chip in to support our Arena Academy as we build up the progressive talent pipeline.
