Clean hands for front line personnel thanks to American energy!


Valero Energy steps up:  "In response to the urgent call for the production of hand sanitizer needed in the fight against COVID-19, Valero announced that its ethanol operations began production today of hand sanitizer at its Hartley, Iowa, ethanol plant. Valero’s bulk production will help alleviate the supply shortages health care organizations and first responders are facing as they combat this virus. Valero received registration approval from the Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) in record time. With quick action from the government and unprecedented efforts by Valero employees, hand sanitizer is being made. Valero expects to distribute its sanitizer to its ethanol plants and refineries and on to local hospitals and emergency care providers. 'We are ready and willing to do what we can in communities surrounding our plants to help ease the nation’s critical shortage of hand sanitizer,' said Joe Gorder, Valero Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. 'I am proud of our employees for their innovation and efforts to make this
possible.'"

"This Earth Day 2020, while we 'distance celebrate' the bounty of Mother Earth’s resources, let’s include the industry that has offered the life connection to keep our world functional during this pandemic. Let’s put down the drums and offer a tip of the hat to the industry, literally, saving lives every day by the ingenuity and 'petropreneurship' of its people, and a nod to the natural resource that gets scowled at most all the while being an essential part of modern life."

Yahoo! (4/24/20) reports: "As the world continues to grapple with the worst global pandemic in living memory, economists everywhere are warning that we are witnessing the unraveling of something far grimmer than the 2008 financial crisis: the Great Depression 2.0. The signs are legion: Unprecedented levels of job and capital destruction, decimated consumer spending, underperformance by nearly all major financial markets, and a breakdown in the world fiscal order. Even giant economic powerhouses have not been spared, with California--one of the wealthiest states in the United States thanks to its booming tech sector--having obliterated all its job growth over the last decade in just two months. But now a renewable energy think-tank says directing those stimulus dollars to renewable energy investments could not only help tackle global climate emergency but spur massive economic gains post-Covid-19 for decades to come. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)--an organization dedicated to promoting global adoption of renewable energy and facilitating sustainable use--says that it will cost the global economy $95 trillion to help return things to normal."

Honesty is the best policy, unless of course, you're trying to trick the world into eco-fascism.


Washington Examiner (4/27/20) column: "When socialist darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez first floated her 'Green New Deal,' it was an intangible vision for society rather than a concrete policy proposal. Even after the New York Democrat and her acolytes added details (including a ban on airplanes and flatulent cows) in a voluminous range of policies costing an astounding $93 trillion, the idea of running the economy without fossil fuels seemed unthinkable. Now, however, thanks to the pandemic lockdown of society, the public is in a position to judge what the 'Green New Deal' revolution would look like. It's like redoing this global pandemic and economic slump every year. Environmental activists say the silver lining of the lockdown is that carbon emissions will drop by nearly 6% globally this year because of reduced travel and industrial emissions. Climate hawks such as Ocasio-Cortez call for this level of reduction every year. The United Nations Environment Programme goes even further, demanding 7.6% each year to stave off climate change. 'This is what ‘rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society’ looks like,' prominent climate activist Eric Holthaus wrote on Twitter. 'We're doing it. It's possible!'"

No surprise here. The 'woke' crowd is warming up to Sleepy Joe.


E&E News (4/27/20) reports: "Joe Biden's campaign recently met with the Sunrise Movement and other progressive groups amid efforts by the presumptive Democratic nominee to unify the party's base and potentially expand his climate plan. The conversations began before Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) exited the presidential race, and they've been ongoing for at least a few weeks, according to a Biden campaign aide. The talks follow past criticism by climate activists, who have accused Biden of not being ambitious in his plans to address global warming. In addition to the youth-led Sunrise Movement, the Biden team has sat down with climate-conscious organizations such as Friends of the Earth and Data for Progress, a think tank that has specialized in building out the Green New Deal. Other progressive groups include March for Our Lives, a youth gun control group, and United We Dream, a youth immigrant rights group."
