She challenges one school book a week.
She says she’ll never stop.
The majority of all school book challenges in the 2021-2022 school year came from just 11 people. -- The Washington Post
John, it's true. The majority of complaints about the books kids read in schools come from just 11 people. 11 people who are determined to erase LGBTQ+ history and remove LGBTQ+ stories from shelves.
These "activists" want people to think they're a grassroots movement, but they're nothing but astroturf. They want people to think they're the ones that are standing up for kids - and that they have a majority of support from Americans. To combat this extremism, we're aiming to elect a huge wave of LGBTQ+ candidates across the country. Pitch in today to elect LGBTQ+ candidates who will fight back against their hate and preserve LGBTQ+ history!
Look, this headline is just the latest proof we need more LGBTQ+ people in elected office. In some states, LGBTQ+ candidates - including our school board candidates! - are being threatened by anti-trans extremists who call LGBTQ+-friendly school board members pedophiles, child abusers and predators. They're banning Pride flags and disciplining teachers for hanging them, saying they're too "political, quasi-political or controversial." It's outrageous!
These people are desperate. They know the majority of Americans don't buy into their nonsense. But to drown out their hatred, we need all hands on deck. Every LGBTQ+ candidate we elect will work to defend equality, not dismantle it. That's why we have to keep working. Help elect LGBTQ+ people across the U.S.!
