I pray you are enjoying the summer season with all of its festivities and get-togethers, fun and sunshine. I also pray you sense God’s goodness and rest in your life.

We live in uncertain times. The past few years have shown us how unexpected and unpredictable life can be. Yet despite the uncertainties we face, God promises us rest.

Take a look at Psalm 127:2: "In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat — for he grants sleep to those he loves" (New International Version).

When the pressures of life weigh upon us, we are often tempted to work harder, later and smarter. And yet God promises to provide for our needs even while we are asleep. 

Perhaps you are in a season that does not feel restful. You would love to step out into the sunshine or have some fun. But life’s heaviness is weighing on you.
