Most Americans Think a Recession Has Already Begun. They’re Right |
Your lyin’ eyes: Recent polls on the state of the economy show in no uncertain terms that Americans believe that the country is—and has been—in a recession, despite what the administration might have them believe.
- “Nearly 60% say we’re already in recession, and on average, they say it started 15 months ago,” said Peter St. Onge, visiting fellow at The Heritage Foundation. “The people always see the recession before it’s officially announced.”
- “All the dire economic data we’re seeing now—the jobs, the delinquencies, the $35 trillion in debt—get much worse when the recession hits in full.”
Watch St. Onge’s video here.
Evidence: The recent meltdown on Wall Street shows that under the current administration is a bad omen, said Richard Stern, director of the Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget.
- “With the debt surpassing $267,000 per American household, there is no doubt that the federal government has been eating everyone else’s lunch,” Stern said.

Uncovered: The mainstream media treat Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz like a folksy Midwesterner. But he's a far-left extremist, including when it comes to education.
- “Judging from his education policies,” write education policy experts Jay Greene and Jason Bedrick, “Walz would be like your folksy grandpa only if you are descended from radical critical race and gender theorists.” Read their expose here.

War: Since last October, Iran-backed militias have attacked more than 170 U.S. bases and assets, and Israel is in more danger than it has been for half a century.
- Blame rests with the Biden-Harris administration’s appeasement strategy, write Victoria Coates, vice president of the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy, and Robert Greenway, director of the Allison Center for National Security. Only one thing can pull us back, they write.

|
|
|
Permanent things: “Leftists know that to fundamentally change America—that is, to destroy it—they first have to destroy the American family,” Heritage President Dr. Kevin Roberts said in a recent speech.
- “It’s why social conservatives and all conservatives must join the battle on that field to defend the moms, dads, and kids now fighting for their very way of life,” he said in remarks at the Social Conservative Policy Conference.

Resurgence of Antisemitism in Universities Is a Serious Threat |
|
|
|
Crescendo: The cascade of campus antisemitism is a serious threat to the safety of Jewish students, a threat that is being met with lawsuits against universities for fostering an environment hostile to Jewish students.
- “In the case of antisemitism, American society did not extirpate it; it merely drove antisemitism underground, where it lay in wait for a chance to return,” writes Senior Legal Research Fellow Paul Larkin.
