By most standards, my family's successful immersion in the U.S. society has been remarkable. My own story could only have unfolded the way it has in America. I am Hung Cao, a Vietnamese refugee and the 2024 Republican U.S. Senate nominee for Virginia.
I’m a retired Navy Captain and Naval Academy graduate who spent more than 25 years serving in Navy Special Operations with combat in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia. In 2022, I came within striking distance of taking down one of the Democrat’s most liberal House members in increasingly blue Northern Virginia. I lost that race by the slimmest of margins, but I’m not one to be deterred by defeat, and now I’ve set my sights on a new target: U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s VP pick.
Tim Kaine might not be a household name like other Democrats running for reelection to the Senate. Still, as one of the ultimate Washington insiders and confidants to Democrat luminaries like Hillary Clinton, he was well aware of Joe Biden’s health failing and said nothing.
My opponent is complicit in the biggest coverup in recent American memory.
As a refugee who ran away from communism, I know a thing or two about being lied to by the government. By not disclosing the commander-in-chief’s failing memory, government officials like my opponent knew and willingly participated in a Soviet-style disinformation campaign.
Today, I’m asking you to take a chance on an American patriot like me. I love this country more than anything else, and I’m steadfastly committed to beating an entrenched incumbent and helping to deliver a Republican majority in the U.S. Senate.
