I’m sorry to reach out on a Sunday evening, but it’s been pretty busy lately, and I was looking for a quiet minute.

First of all, I want to say thank you. Whether you’ve watched our launch video, shared it with friends, or just opened some of my emails, it all helps build momentum around our campaign.

Look, I’ll be honest: Like you, I’ve been thrilled and captivated by the energy and joy that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have brought to the presidential campaign trail over the past few weeks.

Even while I was launching my campaign for Mayor, and releasing several big audits and reports, I attended #DadsforKamala, #ProgressivesForKamala, cast my delegate ballot to make her our nominee, and made my plans to go to the convention. It’s all-hands-on-deck. And I’m delighted by it.

So I wish I could wait and ask you for support for the Mayoral campaign later. But the future of our city can’t wait.

The very first mid-month fundraising deadline since launching my campaign for Mayor of New York City is just four days away — and people will be watching to see how strong our numbers are. Would you consider pitching in any amount to help us reach our goal?

I love this city, and I know you do too, John. New Yorkers want a safer, more affordable, more livable, better-run city and the strong, experienced leadership to get it done.

The data — and our everyday lived experience — shows that families in New York City face an affordability crisis. We need new and better ideas to enable families to stay here — from reliable public transit, to a child care spot for every child, just like the City promised.

All of that will be so much more possible if we elect Kamala Harris & Tim Walz, hold the Senate, and take back the House. But we still need new leadership at City Hall.

I’ll be frank: Mayor Adams is not providing the leadership that the future of our city demands. The problems he’s claiming to solve are the ones he’s created.

Big, bold ideas require good leadership and management that delivers results. That’s what this grassroots campaign for Mayor is all about. And why I’m asking for your early support as we launch the campaign.
