See this picture? It was taken exactly four years ago today -- when Joe called and asked me to serve as his running mate and future Vice President.

It was -- and still is -- one of the most important moments of my life.

Four years later, I am even more honored that as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States, I had the opportunity to choose a partner to lead the country with me. I have no doubt that Governor Walz will make an extraordinary partner who will help build a brighter future for all of us.

To those who know him best, Tim is more than a Governor. To his family, he is Dad. To his fellow veterans, he is Sergeant Major Walz. To the people of Southern Minnesota, he was Congressman. To his former high school students, he was Mr. Walz. And to his former high school football players, he was Coach. I am proud to have Coach Walz join me on the campaign trail, and hopefully soon, in the White House.
