Speaking at the Georgia Chamber
Georgia is the best state in America, and to move our state forward, we need bipartisan work at every level of government.
I attended the annual Georgia Chamber Luncheon last week and had a bipartisan conversation with Rep. Sanford Bishop to share our work together in Congress with attendees.
One of our greatest joint efforts is our bill to establish the Ocmulgee Mounds as Georgia's first National Park and Preserve. This bipartisan, bicameral, and intragovernmental effort has been in the works for many years and will greatly benefit our state's economy and preserve the area's unique cultural history for generations. We are working to move this legislation forward in Congress until it is finally signed into federal law.
Rep. Bishop and I also serve on the House Agriculture Committee together, and we recognize the critical importance that passing a Farm Bill has to Georgia's economy. Agriculture is the backbone of our state's economy and the core of many of our rural communities. We passed the Farm Bill out of committee in May of this year, and several of my priorities to ensure a strong farm safety net were included in this legislation.
Our priority is Georgia, and we will not let partisan political agendas stop us from achieving our shared mission of growing Georgia's economy. I'm thankful for the Chamber's commitment to our state, and I look forward to Georgia’s continued success.

Meeting with the Forest Landowners Association
Last week, I met with the Forest Landowners Association at my Tifton Office.
Georgia is the number one forestry state in the nation! As the Vice Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, it was great to meet with an organization that solely represents forest landowners at the national level to see what they need from us in Washington to ensure that these landowners remain supported.

Visiting ES3 in Warner Robins
I recently had the opportunity to visit ES3, an aerospace technology company that has its Southeast Operations facility based in Warner Robins. ES3 supports our nation’s military by providing specialized design, development, and fabrication of products for aerospace and other heavy industry sectors.
In addition to being an asset to the two Air Force bases in our district, ES3 has provided approximately 50 jobs to our district. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, it is a privilege to visit facilities like these that continue to support our nation’s warfighters and citizens.
Meeting with Local Pharmacists
I also met with local Kroger pharmacists in our district. Meeting with local pharmacists is essential to hear how they can join our fight to reform Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).
PBMs are a cause for concern as they threaten the sustainability of pharmacy businesses nationwide by buying more expensive drugs for their benefit rather than reducing the overall cost to benefit the American people. Americans deserve protection from inflated prescription drug costs, forced pharmacy closures, and barriers to their pharmacy of choice that result from unfavorable PBM methods.
