I know you probably get a lot of emails and text messages begging for money, often from sources that are unclear about their intentions. I bet you’ve seen those emails that say things like “600% Match Ends Tonight!!!” or make absurd claims that “missing a donation” will doom the entire movement forever. Let me be abundantly clear: That is not what we do at the Jane Fonda Climate PAC.

We believe in treating our supporters with respect, John, and we understand that support comes in all shapes and sizes — whether you volunteer your time, donate monthly, share our posts on social media, or simply read these emails to stay informed about our work.

We believe in:

Inspiration Over Fear: I want to inspire you to take action with JanePAC, not scare you into it. The climate crisis is a serious and urgent problem, but we do not need to resort to exaggeration or hyperbole to make our case for taking action. We know that most people are motivated to support our work because they share our hope for a healthy and prosperous future. Your involvement, whether through donations or other forms of support, is a powerful force for change.

Value and Honesty: Our emails are meant to be informative and honest, giving you meaningful insights and updates into the work that JanePAC — and our endorsed candidates — are doing. We don't use fake matches, and we won't tell you that missing one single fundraising deadline means our movement is doomed for eternity. We want to update you on our progress and be honest about our successes and shortcomings. Transparency is key, and we want you to feel invested in our work, not disconnected.

Genuine Connection: We’re here to build a movement, not just fundraise. That’s why we also share opportunities to volunteer and get involved in ways that don’t involve donating.

JanePAC does have goals and deadlines, but my team isn’t going to pressure you with those fake 600% matches or absurd threats to “revoke your Democratic status” if you don’t donate. Instead, we’re simply asking you to lend your support when you can because you believe in our mission.

Every dollar you donate helps us provide direct support to down-ballot candidates who are committed to fighting the climate crisis and holding corporate polluters accountable.
