Welcome back to Team Elise's weekly newsletter! We send a note to Elise's
supporters weekly to update them on what she's working on in Capitol Hill and
across NY-21.


Here are a few top Team Elise updates and stories we have been tracking for
the past week!


Elise Leads Rally Opposing Kathy Hochul’s Prison Closure Plan


On Sunday, Elise joined hundreds of Upstate residents in Fort Ann to support
the Great Meadow Correctional Facility and oppose Kathy Hochul’s devastating
decision to close the prison. Hochul has once again put Upstate New York and
the North Country last with her plan that would uproot hundreds of hard working
law enforcement families and rip them from their community.


Elise stated –


"I will always stand up for our correctional officers, their families, and our
Upstate communities against attacks by failed Governor Kathy Hochul and her
radical Far Left Democrat agenda hurting hardworking Upstate New York families.
If the decision to close Great Meadows Correctional Facility is followed
through, it will result in the single largest loss of jobs in the North Country
in over ten years with over 800 jobs lost or relocated in addition to the
hundreds of jobs that support the prison staff.

After meeting with our hardworking correctional officers, it is clear that
more support from the state is needed to address the low staffing and retention
issues our prison facilities are facing. In addition to the devastating job
losses, Kathy Hochul’s forced closures will lead to dangerous overcrowding in
our remaining prisons, all while ‘inmate on officers’ assaults are at record
numbers. We must work together to end this madness from Kathy Hochul and save
Great Meadows Correctional Facility.”

Elise and Rep. Mike Lawler Introduce Justice for 9/11 Act


On Thursday, Elise and Rep. Mike Lawler (NY-17) introduced the Justice for
9/11 Act to prevent the Biden-Harris Administration from offering plea deals to
the 9/11 terrorists Khalid Shaikh Mohammad, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin
‘Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi.


Elise stated –


“In an effort to prevent the Biden-Harris Administration from offering another
sickening plea deal to the al-Qaeda terrorists behind the horrific terrorist
attacks of 9/11, I am proud to co-lead the introduction of the Justice for 9/11
Act to ensure these terrorists receive the harshest punishment for their roles
in the deadliest terrorist attack in American history. On behalf of the nearly
3,000 Americans killed on 9/11 and thousands of first responders who died from
9/11 health related illnesses, our service members, including 10th Mountain
Division Soldiers, who gave their lives to eliminate terrorists, I will do
everything in my power to make sure these terrorists are tried to the fullest
extent of the law for their heinous crimes against America. We have not
forgotten.”

Mike Lawler stated:


"The Justice for 9/11 Act will ensure that no future plea deal will be offered
to these terrorists by requiring a trial and ensuring the death penalty remains
on the table. Anything less is a disservice to all those who made the ultimate
sacrifice on that day and in the months and years since."


Kamala Harris Appoints Far Left Tim Walz as Her Running Mate


On Tuesday, Kamala Harris announced that Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota would
be joining the Democratic ticket as her Vice-Presidential candidate. Tim Walz
supports defunding the police and flooding our cities with illegal immigrants.
Together with Kamala Harris he will push for the most destructive and radical
Far Left Democrat policies America has ever seen and destroy our nation as we
know it. We must defeat them this November.


Elise stated –


“Kamala Harris’ selection of Tim Walz as her running mate confirms that the
Democrat Party will anoint the most radical Far Left wing ticket in history.
The Harris-Walz ticket is dangerous for hardworking American families as they
will destroy our economy and compromise our national security.

Walz was a failed Member of Congress and a failed Governor who supported BLM
rioters who torched Minneapolis to the ground, while Kamala Harris fundraised
to bail out violent criminals from prison.

Walz voted to increase reckless government spending leading to historic
inflation, strip Americans of their preferred doctors, and has supported failed
Far Left Democrat open border policies for decades.

A Harris-Walz Administration would be the end of America as we know it. We
must elect President Donald J. Trump and Senator JD Vance to save America. The
American First movement must redouble our efforts to ensure a Trump-Vance
victory this November and DEFEAT the radical Harris-Walz ticket to Save
America.”

New York Small Businesses Endorse Elise


This week, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) endorsed
Elise for re-election. NFIB is the nation’s leading small business advocacy
organization representing thousands of small businesses across New York,
including over 1,500 in New York’s 21st Congressional District.


Elise stated –


“I am humbled and honored to earn the endorsement of the National Federation
of Independent Businesses, which represents over 1,500 small businesses in
NY-21. Small businesses across Upstate New York and the North Country are the
backbone of our local economy, and I will never stop fighting for them at the
highest levels to deliver real results back to our district.”


NFIB New York State Director Ashley Ranslow stated –


“Chairwoman Elise Stefanik is a champion for Upstate New York’s small
businesses. As a NFIB Guardian of Small Business, her voting record stands
strong at 100%. She is an original co-sponsor of the Main Street Tax Certainty

tax hike by making the small business deduction permanent. We are confident

Elise Leads Trump Force 47 Captain Training


On Tuesday, Elise led a virtual training with Trump Force 47 Captains. These
America First Patriots are making a difference in Republicans’ ground game
leading up to the election in November. The coalition is made up of thousands
of neighborhood organizers making small time commitments to get out the vote in
their communities. Their efforts will build the largest grassroots base we’ve
ever seen to save America from Kamala Harris and get President Donald Trump
back in the White House!


“Kamala Harris’ National Security Advisor has concerningly close ties to a
known Iranian agent within the Department of Defense and has brazenly published
numerous pro-Iran opinion pieces exposing the depth of the Kamala Harris
anti-Israel, pro-Iran agenda. Since last year, I have demanded accountability
from the Department of Defense for allowing Iranian regime acolytes to
infiltrate high level government staff. The Biden-Harris Administration policy
of appeasing Iran and abandoning Israel will only worsen if Kamala Harris and
her Iranian apologist staff are elevated. I am proud to join Senator Cotton to
demand accountability.”

Elise Joins Bipartisan Amicus Brief Reaffirming Congressional Authority to
Protect Americans from CCP-Owned TikTok


Last Friday, Elise joined a bipartisan group of nearly 60 Members of Congress
in submitting an amicus brief to the D.C. Circuit Court. The lawmakers affirmed
Congress’ authority to combat the national security threats posed by TikTok by
enacting theProtecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications
Act.


Elise stated –


“For years, I have raised concerns about the national security threats of
CCP-controlled TikTok which is why I co-led the Protecting Americans from
Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act which was signed into law. We
cannot allow our greatest strategic adversary to have a stronghold in American
households promoting CCP propaganda, pro-Hamas talking points, and
anti-American content. I am proud to join this bipartisan amicus brief to
reaffirm the constitutionality of this law to stand up to TikTok and ByteDance
and ensure we end the poisonous CCP-fueled malware that is TikTok.”

Iranian Proxies Attack American Base in Iraq


On Monday, multiple American service members at al-Assad air base were wounded
in action in a rocket attack conducted by Iranian-backed militants. Both Iran
and Hezbollah have threatened further escalation in the wake of Israel’s
assassinations of terrorist leaders. In a statement on X, Elise said –


“Our country is praying for the recovery of the U.S. service members who were
injured in the Iranian-backed attack on al-Asad airbase in Iraq.

Since day one, the Biden-Harris Administration's policy of appeasement
towards Iran has provided the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism with
resources and a greenlight to carry out attacks against U.S. service members
and our great ally Israel. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris reversed President
Trump’s maximum pressure campaign allowing Iranian oil exports to skyrocket,
providing Tehran access to $16 billion in sanctions relief, and opposing the
snapback of UN sanctions on Iran’s missile and drone program.

This appeasement has empowered Iranian-backed terrorists to carry out nearly
200 attacks against U.S. service members, resulting in the deaths of Americans
and countless injuries.

In 2020, following an Iranian-backed attack on U.S. forces, President Donald
Trump took out Iranian General Soleimani causing Iran to cease its escalatory
behavior. We know what works, yet the Biden-Harris Administration refuses to
stand up to Iran. America needs a Commander in Chief who will protect our
service members, demand peace through strength, apply maximum pressure, and put
an end to Iran's aggression.”
