In the past few weeks, Cory has heard from small business owners about the help they need but aren't receiving. He's heard from frontline health care workers who don't have the protective equipment to do their jobs safely. And he's heard from hard-hit communities about the dire need for more testing.

Cory joined his Democratic colleagues in the Senate this week to pass additional COVID-19 response legislation that prioritized relief for small businesses, expanded access to testing, and provided more funding for hospitals hit hardest by the COVID-19 crisis.

Here's what's in the latest COVID-19 relief package:

Extending the Paycheck Protection Program. The bill includes $310 billion in additional funding for the Small Business Administration to continue providing loans to small businesses that become forgivable if they keep their workers on payroll. This time, funding is also set aside for community financial institutions, credit unions, and other smaller lenders that were left out of the previous relief package.

Expanding access to COVID-19 testing. $25 billion in funding is included for the development and distribution of additional COVID-19 testing kits as well as supporting lab research.

Helping hospitals and health care providers. $75 billion is allocated for the most impacted hospitals and health care providers to compensate for lost revenue and expenses associated with treating coronavirus.
Without Cory and other Democratic leaders advocating for these important priorities, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans would have passed a $250 billion bill with no funding for the most vulnerable small businesses, additional testing, or our health care providers.

We need reliable leaders like Cory in the Senate to fight for those who would otherwise be left behind.
