Thursday, Donald Trump used his nightly news briefing to suggest that people might somehow be cured of coronavirus by injecting bleach or other disinfectants into their bodies or by exposing themselves to ultraviolet radiation.
Doctors, public health officials, and even the Lysol corporation were forced to rush out statements urging people not to listen to the president.
But Donald Trump alone is not responsible for the spread of this incredibly dangerous misinformation. The corporate media shares the blame for running his news briefings live, night after night, for no reason other than to get ratings and make money.
The news briefings are 100% political, and night after night, Trump spews mountains of misinformation that must be corrected after the fact.
