My story doesn’t start with freedom, but it ends with it.
I was born in Vietnam while the communists were fighting to take power. My family and I made it out just days before Saigon fell. My father was put on a kill list for bravely opposing communist tyranny.
If it wasn’t for America taking us in, I may not be alive today. But in this strange new country, we had unlimited opportunities.
My parents taught me NEVER to take our freedom for granted - and that’s why at 18, I was appointed to the Naval Academy to defend the same freedoms that saved my life.
I served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years. I rose to the rank of Captain and was able to build a life for myself and my family that wouldn’t be possible anywhere but America.
Radical, socialist politicians want to take our country in the same direction as communist Vietnam. they want to erode our freedom and even throw you in jail if you refuse to toe the Leftist line.
That isn’t what I fought for, and it’s not what too many of my brothers and sisters in arms gave their lives for.
I fought to protect our freedom abroad for 25 years. Now, I’m ready to fight for it in the U.S. Senate.
