We probably don’t need to remind you that it has been HOT in Sacramento this summer. The past few years have been brutal in terms of summer heat — we’ve always had hot summers, but it’s objectively and measurably getting worse. We need to take climate action NOW, and the politics of that involve defeating MAGA Republicans up and down the ballot this November. This summer, Sacramento is once again enduring some of the most brutal heat in the nation. We have had heat wave after heat wave, and you can talk to any long-time Sacramento resident for a shocking perspective on just how much hotter our area has become in recent years. The climate crisis is here, and demands urgent action at the federal level to help our economy transition away from the use of fossil fuels ASAP.
In spite of overwhelming evidence, too many of my GOP colleagues would rather pretend climate change isn’t happening, or muddy the waters about what’s driving it. But the scientific consensus is clear: climate change is caused by human activity, and only by changing our collective behavior can we hope to slow down this grave environmental crisis. We need to hold our ground, defeat MAGA Republicans and take action to decarbonize our economy. I really appreciate anything you can donate to help keep this seat blue!
