Today, I want to let you know a little bit about me, and why I’m in this race.
I was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina, with 800 residents and zero traffic lights. My parents, a corrections officer and a social worker, instilled in me early on the importance of service and giving back where you can — something that I’ve held onto ever since.
It’s a value I held throughout my undergraduate and law school career, and that I lived every day when I became a civil rights lawyer and fought tooth and nail to advocate for the civil rights and liberties of all Virginians.
I did the same when I was appointed by both Governors Ralph Northam and Glenn Youngkin to work under their administrations. And it’s the same reason I’m running for Congress — to give the people of VA-01 the leadership they deserve.
Virginia’s future is on the ballot this November. That’s why I’m partnering with Tim Kaine — someone who knows a thing or two about real service to all Virginians.
It’s only with your help that we can ensure Virginia’s future is in the hands of pro-choice, pro-democracy Democrats. In this critical moment, will you split a contribution of $20 or more between Tim Kaine’s campaign for Senate and my campaign for Congress?
