Get the Facts: Supreme Court Showdown

When they do not get their way, children will sometimes call the rules unfair, whine, and seek to change the rules of the game. While most adults grow out of this mindset, it appears President Biden and the Democrats still have a long ways to go in learning this lesson. Recently, President Biden proposed changes to the Supreme Court that will tilt the hand to the Democrats favor. They now want term limits on Supreme Court Justices so they can install their liberal judges. Our Supreme Court was envisioned as a nonpartisan, deliberative body, to balance the two more political branches of government. President Biden is directly going against the founding principles of our high court because he and the Democrats did not get their way.

Lesko Legislation: Hands Off Our Home Appliances

Government overreach is a huge problem that has only grown under the Biden/Harris Administration. This Congress, I was proud to do my part in combatting it with my bill, the Hands Off Our Home Appliances Act. Under Biden’s watch, the Department of Energy released heinous regulations on stoves, dishwashers, washing machines, showers, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, and more. My legislation attempts to combat these regulations in three ways. First, it requires a new energy efficiency standard to be cost-effective for consumers. Second, it mandates actual savings for any new standard – either a ten percent reduction in energy or water usage, or a reduction of overall energy usage in the country of over thirty quads over a 30-year period. Finally, it prevents any household appliance from being banned by the federal government based on what type of fuel it uses. See my full press release here.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office for assistance with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VA). The constituent requested Aid and Attendance benefits and had not received a response for over 6 months. We contacted the VBA to find out where the claim was in review process. As a result, the constituent’s claim was completed and approved.

If you already have Global Entry for traveling and have not yet renewed your membership, now may be the time. Military Academy Nominations

As a member of Congress, I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. This would include nominating candidates for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination for appointment. For more information click here.
