Hello —
I have an important question to ask you as we near the end of April and approach another critical deadline next week. I hope you’ll grant me a moment to explain why this is so important.
I didn’t take the usual path to public office.
I worked as a geologist then became a brewer and small business owner whose successful brewpub helped revitalize a neglected warehouse district in Denver.
Then, I ran for mayor and eventually governor, creating jobs and expanding health care and vote-by-mail right here in Colorado — getting things done that mattered for people by bringing folks together around our common values.
That same mentality is why I’m now running for U.S. Senate. It wasn’t easy then, and I know it won’t be easy now — not with the bickering and partisanship in Washington, which has been particularly unhelpful lately as our country grapples with the coronavirus outbreak. But I know we can do it again if we win this election the right way.
My opponent is considered the most vulnerable Republican Senator in the country, but he’s also backed by Mitch McConnell’s network of right-wing billionaire donors who have booked millions of dollars in Colorado in recent weeks, presumably targeting our campaign.
So, as we approach our April fundraising deadline, we’re looking to raise $500,000 from as many grassroots donors as possible in the next few days.
If you’re able, will you make a donation of $10 or more toward our April fundraising deadline today? Your support has never been more important, especially since we’ve canceled our in-person fundraising events due to the coronavirus outbreak. Anything you can chip in will go a long way:
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
I’m ready to get to work in Washington — to lower our health care costs, safeguard families from gun violence, combat climate change, and make sure our country is ready to deal with pandemics like this one.
But first, we need to win this race. I’m up for that challenge, and I need to know you’re with me.
Thanks for stepping up and for all you do.
— John
