Lt. Governor Flanagan meets with leaders from the Minnesota Farm Bureau

On Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan attended Farmfest in Morgan, Minnesota. Farmfest brings together farmers and leaders in agribusiness from Minnesota and around the country to network, experience, and learn to grow their farming operations.

*"Agriculture is the backbone of Minnesota’s economy and has allowed our state to grow our exports and relationships worldwide. It was great to be back at Farmfest to hear directly from the farmers, ranchers, and producers that make that happen,"* said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan.

For Third Consecutive Year, Governor Walz Announces Minnesota Achieves AAA Bond Ratings from All Major Credit Rating Agencies

Governor Walz announced that Minnesota has earned the highest bond rating from all major credit rating agencies for the third consecutive year. This month, Fitch, Moody’s, and Standard & Poor’s have all affirmed the state’s AAA rating.

*"This is the third year in a row all three rating agencies have ranked Minnesota bonds among the best in the nation for investors – a testament to the strength of our economy,"* said Governor Walz. *"From Minnesota’s diverse business sector and skilled workers to our financial management and thoughtful budgeting, we’ve maintained a financial position that’s among the highest in the country."*

Last week, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan announced that new figures released by the Minnesota Department of Revenue show the state’s nation-leading Child Tax Credit has put over $545 million into the budgets of more than 215,000 Minnesota families this year.  

*"This year, we invested directly in the financial security and wellbeing of families across the state through our nation-leading Child Tax Credit," *said Governor Walz. *"I’m grateful that nearly 440,000 children have already benefited. Minnesota is setting an example for the nation of how to lift families up, cut child poverty, and build a brighter future for Minnesotans."*

*"This historic tax credit is a game-changer for Minnesota families," *said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. *"I’m beyond thrilled to know that hundreds of thousands of families can live with a little less stress knowing there is extra money in the bank this year. This credit will help Minnesotans afford groceries, rent, or a new backpack for school, and this is just one way we are making Minnesota the best state for children and families."*
