Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s bureaucrat hiring spree is out of control. And you’re paying the price. 

Since 2015, Trudeau added 108,000 extra bureaucrats. That’s a 42 per cent increase in less than a decade. 

Are you getting 42 per cent better services from the feds? 

The average compensation for a full-time federal bureaucrat is $125,300, when pay, pension and other perks are accounted for, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer. 

Think about the math. More than a hundred thousand bureaucrats times more than a hundred thousand dollars each equals more than $10 billion per year. 

Instead of paying for all those extra bureaucrats, the government could cut income taxes for the first two brackets by one per cent and still have money left over to shrink the debt.

It’s not just the size of the bureaucracy that’s exploded – the cost has too. 

Trudeau handed out more than one million pay raises in the last four years. And his government rubber stamped more than $1 billion in bonuses since 2015. 

For this or any future government to fix the budget and cut taxes, it must shrink the bureaucracy.
