Official Team Britt Newsletter | | | Sen. Katie Britt, Tim Kaine’s child care package receives outpouring of support | U.S. Senators Katie Britt, R-Ala., and Tim Kaine’s recently introduced child care package has already received substantial support from organizations that advocate on behalf of children, families, small businesses, and more. Their legislation, the Child Care Availability and Affordability Act and the Child Care Workforce Act, together form the boldest bipartisan proposal to make child care more affordable and accessible by strengthening existing tax credits to lower child care costs and building the supply of child care providers. “I am so excited to see the broad, enthusiastic outpouring of support for our child care legislation,” said Senator Britt. “With our bipartisan introduction and this immediate strong showing of support, we are sending a message to the American people that we can and will get the job done to improve accessibility and affordability when it comes to child care. This legislation would empower families to keep more of their hard-earned money, strengthen opportunities for children to reach their full potential, and help local small businesses and critical American industries thrive. Simply put, this is a win-win. I’ll continue to fight on behalf of parents to enact this critical legislation into law.” | | | Britt announces $6 million in federal funds for Montgomery's Jackson Hospital | Alabama U.S. Sen. Katie Britt announced Wednesday that she has secured $6 million for Jackson Hospital and Clinic for the 2025 fiscal year through the FY25 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Act . Jackson Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare provider in Montgomery. The congressional spending is meant to provide the hospital the necessary equipment needed to improve patient care and fund critical internal infrastructure improvements. Britt is currently a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations. “This funding would give families in and around Montgomery access to improved medical care and services," Britt said. "When I joined the Appropriations Committee, I promised to return your hard-earned taxpayer dollars to Alabama." | | | As global imports of Russian liquified natural gas surge, Sen. Katie Britt’s warning becomes reality | Earlier this year, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt warned that foreign adversaries would benefit from the Biden Administration blocking new approvals of pending applications for liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. Now it appears Britt’s predication is coming true as France is importing more LNG from Russia. According to reports, shipments of Russian LNG to France more than doubled the first half of this year, while imports to EU countries overall have increased by 7%. “Foreign customers will simply turn to other LNG suppliers across the globe, including to our primary adversaries,” Britt said in February. “This irresponsible, job-killing move will effectively weaken America’s role as the world’s leading exporter of LNG and further diminish the American energy dominance that President Biden inherited.” | | | | Alabama values.
