I just went on MSNBC to talk about the stakes of my Senate race in New Mexico and the presidential election. The long and short of it is that Governor Tim Walz is right: These people are weird. It’s weird that my multimillionaire opponent dodges interviews that would actually give voters a glimpse of her stances on important issues. It’s weird that she aligns with a party that wants to be in your wife’s exam room or your kid’s library or bathroom at school instead of finding solutions to make life better for working families. And it’s weird that when the majority of Americans say they want to protect affordable healthcare, enact common-sense gun safety laws, and act on climate change, Republicans fight for the exact opposite. We can win this competitive race here in New Mexico and send Vice President Kamala Harris to the White House. But my former hedge fund executive challenger is outraising and outspending me, and she and National Republicans are flooding New Mexico with ads attacking our progress.
