Hey Herbert, I just wanted to reach out and give you a quick update on the state of our U.S. Senate race here in Maryland.

And there’s both bad news and good:

The bad news is that Republican Larry Hogan outraised us last quarter. It’s not surprising, given that he’s courting big checks from the far right, but it gives him an early advantage and means he has the resources to communicate with Maryland voters.

The good news is that this race is still neck-and-neck! With a huge outpouring of grassroots support in the next 24 hours, we can boost our ads and our on-the-ground voter contact efforts.

Will you help us counter Larry Hogan’s slight fundraising advantage by chipping in $25 split between my campaign and Johnny O right now? We need to close the gap to lay the groundwork to win Maryland’s make-or-break Senate race that WILL decide Senate control in November.
