Bipartisan Effort to Upgrade Milwaukee's Air Base
I was proud to lead Wisconsin's congressional delegation in a bipartisan request urging Air National Guard Director Michael Loh to give the 128th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) in Milwaukee his full consideration when selecting the next home for a KC-46 refueling tanker.
The 128th ARW has long operated out of Milwaukee and has an array of capabilities and assets, including nearly 900 highly skilled personnel and a commander responsible for the combat readiness of its ten KC-135 Stratotankers.
Additionally, the 128th ARW is strategically located to allow easy access to both our nation's coasts and bolsters Homeland Defense and Global Reach through polar refueling routes over Canada and towards the Indo-Pacific.
An upgrade to the base will build on the excellent relationship between the air wing and our community and mean more jobs and investment here.
I visited the base on Monday to highlight the overwhelming community support for upgrading the 128th. Click here to watch the full clip on Fox 6 or click here to watch the full clip on WISN.

Working to Relieve the Strain on Our Community
Last month, the Institute for Reforming Government (IRG) released a report on how America's broken immigration system has placed burdens on the City of Whitewater. IRG's report shows in detail how the failure to secure the southern border has led to a strain on Whitewater's resources and a cartel running illegal operations in our community.
Yesterday I joined IRG's General Counsel and Director of the Center for Investigative Oversight, Jake Curtis, to discuss the failures of the immigration system on the City of Whitewater and strategies we can employ to mitigate its negative impacts.

Remembering the Twelfth Anniversary of the Sikh Gurdwara Tragedy
This week, we marked the twelfth anniversary of the Sikh Gurdwara Tragedy and the worshippers whose lives were taken from us far too soon.
Suveg Singh Khattra, Sita Singh, Satwant Singh Kaleka, Ranjit Singh, Prakash Singh, Paramjit Kaur, Punjab Singh, and Lieutenant Brian Murphy who first responded to the scene and helped prevent further tragedy will not be forgotten.
I joined the Oak Creek community in remembering the victims and I thank each of my colleagues for supporting my resolution to honor the lives we lost.

Walworth County National Night Out
Earlier this week I joined members of our law enforcement and emergency services at Walworth County National Night Out.
It was great to see Assistant Chief John O'Neil and the rest of the team from the Delavan Fire Department. Thank you to all our law enforcement and emergency servicemembers for your dedicated service to our community!
On Wisconsin,
Bryan Steil Member of Congress
