In 1999, Tim Walz stepped up to help form Mankato West High School’s first gay-straight alliance. He was a teacher and football coach who listened to his LGBTQIA+ students when they needed him. Since his time as a high school teacher, he fought for a repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in Congress and as Governor signed a law making Minnesota a trans refuge state.

John, Tim represents Greater Minnesota – neighbors who are unafraid to stand up for what is right and accept each other for who they are. Kamala and Tim will be powerful advocates for queer and trans rights in the Oval Office.

Women Winning endorsed candidates across Greater Minnesota, like Rep. Heather Keeler for House District 4A, Lorrie Janatopoulos for House District 7B, and Rep.
