We were back on the 22 County Tour this week with seven stops across the district meeting with Iowans, hearing more about their day-to-day challenges and successes, and discussing ways to help our families and businesses thrive.

From meeting with first responders to hearing from female leaders in ag, visiting the Jesup Splash Pad, and seeing the life-saving work of our rural health care providers, all of our visits were informative and productive. I will take these experiences back with me to DC as I advocate for commonsense solutions that will keep Iowa the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

SIM-IA with Cedar Rapids Fire Department

I attended Simulation In Motion - Iowa training with the Cedar Rapids Fire Department this week to see how they provide hands-on training and continuing education to EMS, first responders, and medical professionals in our Iowa communities. I am grateful to all of our first responders for their dedication to keeping Iowans safe in emergency situations.

Women in Ag Roundtable

Thank you to the female leaders from Tama County Farm Bureau who took time out of their busy schedules to join my roundtable discussion this week. I gave a status update on the Farm Bill, enacting a solution to Prop 12, and my work to ensure our rural communities thrive.

Grinnell Regional Medical Center Labor and Delivery Unit

The team at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center Labor and Delivery Unit provides expecting and new moms with the best possible care. I'm advocating to secure federal funding for their upcoming expansion and will continue fighting to improve maternal care options for more healthy moms and healthy babies.

Textile TapHaus

I stopped by Textile TapHaus in Atkins to visit the taproom, try their brews, and discuss ways to keep our rural main streets vibrant. I’ll always raise a glass to our small business community!

Waverly Industrial Rehab

Waverly Industrial Rehab provides unique rehabilitative services for individuals returning to the industrial workforce. Their services are tailored to each individual and have been a game changer to help promote wellness, prevent injuries, and help people return to work quickly.

Jesup Splash Pad

I was happy to see families enjoying the Jesup Splash Pad on a hot summer day! Erika Havlik and community leaders worked together on this project inspired by Erika’s son, Reed, to give everyone the opportunity to join in summer fun. It was great to see their vision come to life in Jesup.

Hopkinton Clinic

I joined the Regional Medical Center team at their new clinic in Hopkinton. They provide primary care services, including prenatal care, to Iowans in several surrounding small communities. Ensuring rural areas have access to top-notch medical care will continue to be a top priority for me.

Our team is so grateful to the students who have spent their summers interning with us and learning more about the federal legislative process. It's so inspiring to see young people with a passion for public service and serving Iowans!
