John – happy back-to-school season! I know it’s a busy time of year for parents with school-aged children, so I’ll keep this email brief.

I’ve always believed that every child, no matter their income or background, deserves a high-quality, public education. And I’m fighting every day in the Senate to work towards that goal.

I’m proud that Illinois is often ranked near the top when it comes to public education. But there’s still work to be done, and I’ll keep fighting for our students.

Ever since I was first elected to Congress, I’ve been an unbending voice for supporting Illinois’ public schools. But unfortunately, national Republicans are more focused on banning books than they are in investing in our children’s futures.

Our students, parents, and educators deserve better. This back-to-school season is more than just a fresh start for our students – it’s a new beginning for all of us.
