Dear John,
The flooding earlier this summer caused significant damage across the Second District. I spent time with Minnesotans impacted by the floods in Waterville, Northfield, Grey Cloud Island in Cottage Grove, Shakopee, Savage and St. Paul Park.
Many Minnesotans’ homes and businesses, especially in Rice and Le Sueur counties were damaged, and I want you to know that my team and I are tracking federal resources as they become available to ensure MN-02 residents are connected to the support they need. So today, I wanted to share an updated list of resources:
- Currently, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering disaster assistance to homeowners in Le Sueur and Rice counties.
- The Small Business Administration recently announced financial support resources for small businesses in Le Sueur and Rice counties.
These resources are there to help Minnesotans recover from the disastrous flooding. I will continue to track federal resources as they become available and do everything in my power to get folks the support they need as we continue to rebuild.
Here’s what else I was up to this week:
Investing in law enforcement
This week, I visited the SCALE Regional Public Safety Training Facility in Jordan to recognize the $1,184,000 in federal dollars we’re working to secure. I’ll keep working to ensure our local law enforcement have the resources and support they need.
Supporting community health centers
I was honored to receive a Certificate of Recognition from Open Door Health Center and Dakota Child and Family Clinic for my work to support community health centers.
I’ll keep working in Congress to ensure every Minnesotan has access to the reliable and affordable health care they need.
Behind the Scenes with Rep. Craig
Communities across #MN02 hosted National Night Out events this week – giving communities the opportunity to connect with local law enforcement.
While I spent the day and evening at Farmfest in Morgan, Minnesota, my team attended events in Savage, Prior Lake and Hastings. They met with community leaders and local law enforcement, and offered our continued support for those keeping Minnesota safe.
That’s all from me this week. I hope you enjoy your weekend!
Until next time,
Angie Craig
Member of Congress
