I believe that you cannot have a big league economy with little league infrastructure. That is why I am always so excited to share Washington state's funding wins from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Thus far, we have earned funding for upwards of 800 projects, totaling $8.9 billion.

In June, I secured a $17,931,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for the Port of Bellingham to renovate a shipping terminal site. With this grant, the Port of Bellingham will be able to return the site to a fully functioning multimodal terminal with more efficient loading and unloading of railcars.

This is big because, in Washington state, transportation means jobs.

Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Port of Bellingham has the funding it needs to modernize its shipping terminal, which will create more jobs, reduce carbon emissions, and keep supply chains and the maritime economy moving.

In addition to the $17.9 million grant from June — since 2022, I have secured over $82 million for Northwest Washington thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law RAISE grants. This money has been used to invest in local infrastructure projects from Lynnwood's Poplar Way Bridge, to Whatcom County's Lummi Island Ferry, to Blaine's Bell Road Project, to the Tulalip Tribes' Road Safety Project.

The projects underway here in Northwest Washington and nationwide will help create jobs and pave the way for cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible infrastructure for Americans.

More soon,

Rick
