In the 2012 election, Democratic U.S. House candidates earned 1.4 million more votes than their GOP opponents nationwide. And yet Democrats ended up with 33 fewer seats.

Compare that to when Princeton University found that the 2012 map had the worst gerrymandering of the past 50 years.
