The wave of enthusiasm and energy Democrats are feeling across the country is electric, and our community has met the moment.
Last month was our biggest fundraising month all year, reaching over $250,000 raised for our candidates — bringing our total raised for our progressive champions to nearly $800,000 this year. Together, we’re helping them build their war chests — and build them early — so they have the resources to refine their strategy, hire campaign staff, and connect with voters in their districts.
In fact, every single Sister District candidate outraised their Republican opponent in the second quarter!

💡 Sister District Team Spotlight:
SD Greater Chicago hosted LuAnn Bird for a weekend of house parties— three events in one weekend — and featured some very fun cocktails, including the Hales Corner Hibiscus, the Fight'n' LaFollette, and the Sister District Spritz.
DC Metro Area ran a successful 3 day digital blitz for Woodson Bradley, raising over $12,800 for her campaign.
The Sister District Olympics have been underway since July 26. Many teams have gotten into the spirit of things hosting fundraising events and spirited phonebanks. We have six competitions/events going on throughout the 2.5 weeks, winners will be announced next week:
Christian, our incredible organizer, hosted our first Childless Cat Lady & Friends Phonebank. 17 people joined us, and it was so much fun that we’re going to make it a weekly event going forward on Wednesdays at 4pm ET.

This month, we wanted to share this awesome article from Politico, featuring some of our Arizona candidates — Kevin Volk and Rep. Lorena Austin.
This is a picture of Kevin, candidate for AZ State House, who estimates he has knocked on close to 4,000 doors so far and has had to superglue his shoes back together!
The article also spotlights Rep. Lorena Austin, a Sister District alum, who flipped a Republican seat in 2022 and is running for re-election. Here she is knocking on a constituent’s door:
Politico also featured Sister District’s work researching down-ballot roll off:
“Democrats are alert to the problem of “down-ballot roll off,” where voters go to the polls mainly to weigh in on high-profile national races but lose interest in local ones and simply stop completing their ballots.”
For example, in the Arizona House, it would have taken only 4,451 votes for Dems to win the 2 seats needed to flip the chamber in 2020. In that election, 584,000 people voted for Biden but did not vote all the way down the ticket. If just 0.8% of them had voted for their Democratic state legislative candidate too, Democrats would have won the chamber.
Take a moment to read and share this new article.
That’s it for this month! Sister District members like you are essential to our movement — and there’s no doubt with your help, we’ll continue to achieve historic and momentous victories for progressives in states everywhere.
