As of last week, 83% of Gaza has been marked unsafe.

Women and girls in Gaza

Pregnant women and new mothers are living through a nightmare in Gaza.

An estimated 120 women give birth every day amid the horrors of the war – and often without basic medicines and anesthesia. They are exhausted, traumatized, and hungry, deprived of basic necessities for survival. Frequently, to make room for other patients, women are kicked out of bed just minutes after giving birth and forced to return to cold and damp tents.

But, powered by your gifts, UNFPA and partners are working tirelessly to meet the escalating needs of women and girls in Gaza.

UNFPA recently delivered a lifeline in the form of a mobile maternity unit. Equipped with an operating theater, incubator, and recovery room, it will provide a haven for hundreds of pregnant women to give birth safely in the midst of a conflict zone.

Your gifts ensure pregnant women living through crisis zones can still access critical maternal health care and deliver their babies safely.

Will you make an emergency gift today and deliver the gift of lifesaving care to pregnant women, new mothers, and their newborns in Gaza and wherever your support is needed most?

We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.

Thank you for being there for women and girls.
