John—thousands of elephants are killed every year, slaughtered for their tusks for the illegal wildlife trade. Vulnerable wildlife—like elephants and many other species—will not survive without our help.

In honor of World Elephant Day on August 12, we're hoping to find 180 people who will create a safer world for wildlife by symbolically adopting an elephant with a monthly gift.

Yes! I want to protect vulnerable wildlife ►

When you start your monthly gift, you’ll make a huge difference for threatened wildlife and their habitats while sustaining WWF's critical conservation work around the globe.

Hi John,

Did you know that the bond between a mother elephant and her calf is one of the closest of any mammal? Calves rely completely on their mothers as they learn to survive in the wild.

Tragically, poaching for the illegal elephant ivory trade leaves many young elephants orphaned and facing an uncertain future. A staggering number of elephants are killed each year for their tusks. Poaching—and habitat loss and fragmentation resulting in increased human-wildlife conflict—threaten the survival of so many species, including tigers and black rhinos.

I think World Elephant Day on Monday is the ideal moment to create a safer world for vulnerable wildlife everywhere.

Make a monthly gift now to protect precious wildlife like elephants. When you start your monthly donation, you'll protect threatened species and their habitats from many threats—and you'll help us reach our goal of 180 World Elephant Day donors.

I'll give monthly + protect wildlife ►

A Special Gift for John

When you donate $12 a month or more, you can choose to receive a symbolic elephant adoption kit—our way of saying thank you!

Start your monthly gift for nature ►

As a monthly donor, your ongoing support will make a lasting difference for wildlife and wild places around the world, every day. Giving monthly is an easy, efficient, and effective way to protect nature.

Not only will you help stop elephant poaching and foster sustainable coexistence between elephants and people... you'll also help to protect and restore fragile ecosystems, tackle the climate crisis, save endangered wildlife, and find practical and beneficial ways for both people and nature to thrive.

For World Elephant Day, I hope you’ll help us reach our goal and make our critical conservation work possible by symbolically adopting an elephant and becoming a monthly member.

Thank you for being a hero for elephants,

Jessica

P.S. Whatever amount you give for World Elephant Day, your generous support will help protect vulnerable wildlife and nature around the world—and you'll help us reach our goal of 180 donors! Thank you for caring about our planet.
