Don't Miss the Signs - Early Detection May Mean Early Treatment
[link removed]
Dear Friend,
It's a historic moment in Alzheimer's disease treatment. For
the first time, there are U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved
treatments that could meaningfully change the course of the disease
for people living with early Alzheimer's.
These treatments highlight the critical importance of
detecting Alzheimer's early to improve the quality of care and quality
of life for those living with the disease. It's important to talk to
your doctor about any concerns for memory loss.
While these treatments offer hope to some, they are not the
answer for everyone. Our work is far from done. We won't rest until
everyone living with dementia of any kind - at any stage -
can get the treatment, care and support they need and deserve. That
takes your support.
Right now, we are halfway through our $160,000 2X Matching
Gift Challenge. When you give today, your first gift can go twice as
far to aid our efforts in early detection, as well as promoting
breakthrough research, advocacy, and care and support. We're still far
from unlocking this match, and every second counts.

Living Well with Dementia: Animal
Therapy
Living Well with Dementia
[link removed]
Animal therapy is an accessible and
inexpensive practice that has been shown to provide a wide variety of
behavioral and emotional benefits for people living with dementia. The
Alzheimer's Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations -
guidelines that set the standard for person-centered quality care
- cite several studies that show the behavioral and emotional
benefits of regular engagement with both living and robotic animals.
Families of people with dementia also report that having a pet
in the home can improve their loved one's mood and sometimes even
offer a calming effect if the individual is anxious or agitated.
We're constantly working to provide access to enrichment for
our members of our community. It's just part of our mission to lead
the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia - by
accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early
detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
We need your support now to expand
this work. During our $160,000 2X Matching Gift Challenge, every
dollar can be matched, up to $160,000, and go twice as far to fuel our
priorities.
