I hope you and your loved ones are healthy, safe, and well.
On Thursday, I voted in the House to pass the latest COVID-19 package, which provides increased emergency relief for our farmers, small businesses, and hospitals. It also addresses the urgent need to increase our testing capacity.
There is still much more work ahead.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is ignoring pleas from local officials for financial assistance to wage war against COVID-19 and continue to pay first responders and teachers, pick up the trash, and perform other basic functions when local tax revenues have all but dried up.
It's shameful.
We must stand with and support our first responders, our teachers, cops, and all the vital services provided by our state and local governments.
And that is exactly what I am working on in Congress next -- federal funding to ensure your state and local governments can continue to serve you and your family throughout this crisis.
