Hi Friend,

The Flying Eye Hospital has touched down in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia for a three-week training project!

The team had a bumpy landing with FedEx and Orbis volunteer pilot Captain Cyndhi Berwyn calling it “one of the toughest approaches” in her long career.

Thanks to your generous support, over the next three weeks Orbis staff and Volunteer Faculty will guide local eye care professionals in simulation training, hands-on surgical training, and ophthalmic workshops. The training will cater to the needs of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and biomedical engineers, so everyone on the eye care team is properly equipped.

A former Orbis patient and now Orbis Canada Board Member, Bulgan Orgilsaikhan, also flew in on the plane and is sharing her journey with Orbis supporters on social media over the course of the project.
