It takes a village to raise a child – thank you for being part of Our Village!
Things have been very busy for us over the last couple of months – we have settled into our new name, had a fantastic fundraising appeal (thank you for your donations!) and of course distributed hundreds of essential items to babies and children in need.
It's been a chilly few weeks too – dropping to 1 degree some days 🥶 – so being busy cleaning prams, fixing cots and packing clothing bundles has helped keep our team and amazing volunteers warm in the warehouse. Along with their puffer jackets and beanies too!
Grab a cuppa and get cosy while we give you a little update on what's been happening at Our Village.
Thank you for your generous support,
Our Village Team
THANK YOU for making a HUGE difference!
We are thrilled with the success of our 'It Takes a Village' Appeal in June. Because of our amazing supporters – that's you! – we raised an INCREDIBLE $322,000!
To give you an idea of what that means to vulnerable families – we could send out over 2,600 prams, or 1,600 cots or even provide over 300 families with all the material essentials they need for their newborn baby. Amazing!
We couldn't be more grateful for your donations and kind messages. Thank you for supporting vulnerable babies and children all over Victoria. 💚
The incredible impact of YOUR support:
Cleaned out your cupboards lately?
Our stock levels are lower than usual with fewer donations coming in having a big effect in our warehouses. If you have had a clear out recently or are thinking of an early spring clean – we would love to have your baby and children items that you no longer need. Please have a read the list of items we accept [[link removed]] – we do ask for donations to be in excellent, clean condition, so anyone who receives an essential item feels like they have received a gift, prepared with care and thoughtfulness. Click the button below to book in a time slot to drop off your donations. We would be so grateful!

We are in particular need of the following items so we can clear waitlists for families in need asap – can you help? 💚
Volunteers bringing joy to kids during Book Week!
Book Week is coming up (17-23 August) and when one of our Community Services partners reached out with an ask to help primary school kids take part, we jumped to the challenge. Our Village volunteers have been busy in our 'book nook' finding matching books and costumes and bundling them up for kids who might otherwise not be able to join the fun of Book Week. We now have 100 dinosaurs, pirates, firemen and even the Loch Ness Monster book/costume bundles ready to go. School activities like this are great for kids, but can be out of reach for families struggling financially. Now more kids around Victoria can join the fun – thanks to Our Village volunteers!
