<[link removed]>Watch the stream <[link removed]>Dear Friend,
Please join us for a special live stream <[link removed]>to mark a moment of silence on this 79th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.
At 11:02 on 9 August 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb over Nagasaki, indiscriminately killing tens of thousands of people, and profoundly disrupting and altering the lives of the survivors. Each year, the Peace Memorial Ceremonies are held to remember the victims of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki <[link removed]>and ensure the evil is never repeated.
ICAN, Peace Boat, UNITAR and local Nagasaki partners invite you to join us now in an online commemoration to experience the atmosphere in Nagasaki, and hear from?Ogawa Tadayoshi, a hibakusha (survivor of the bombing) as well as from young local peace activists about their wishes and feelings on this day.?
The?live stream?will remain online <[link removed]> so anyone can watch it, no matter the timezone, and?take a moment to stand in solidarity with the hibakusha. You can also watch the full?79th Nagasaki Peace Ceremony (with English translation)?here <[link removed]>.?
We hope you will join us in a global moment of remembrance, reflection and?wishing for a world free of nuclear weapons today.
Thank you,
Lucero Oyarzun
