Friend—

It’s official. I am the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate here in Michigan.

I’m so grateful to Michigan voters for entrusting me not only with this honor, but also the responsibility of keeping Michigan and this U.S. Senate seat blue in November. I will not let you down.

Because there is just too much at stake:

Whether Michigan is a place where anyone can get in and stay in the middle class.

Whether our granddaughters have fewer rights than their grandmothers.

Whether the American experiment of a multi-racial, multi-ethnic democracy continues.

And whether Michigan contributes to keeping the White House, and making history.

So you can bet I will be working harder than I ever have before. I know that we can win this, but it will take all of us. My team has set a rather ambitious $100,000 General Election Founding Donor Goal for the next week so that we can hit the ground running in the sprint to the general election. Will you split a donation of $10 between Defend Democracy Now and my campaign tonight and become a General Election Founding Donor?

In short: the real race begins now. We’re up against Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate, Mike Rogers, a man who has shown that he’ll say or do anything to get elected.

He has co-sponsored bills that would not only ban abortion nationwide, but threaten in-vitro fertilization and birth control. He supported privatizing Social Security and Medicare. After 20 years as a politician, Rogers left Michigan for good. He cashed in on his D.C. connections to make millions by helping Chinese tech companies, giving them access to the United States. And in doing so, increased his net worth by as much as 2,000%. Then he bought a mansion in Florida and two yachts. He is only moving back to Michigan to run for the Senate.

It’s clear: Mike Rogers is only looking out for himself.

I will be working to make sure every Michigan voter understands just how bad Mike Rogers would be for Michiganders if elected to the Senate, but we need resources to start immediately holding him accountable to his record.

Will you become a General Election Founding Donor today and chip in $10 to Defend Democracy Now and my campaign?
