Millions of taxpayer dollars wasted, John.
That’s the result of the Adams Administration’s negligent and haphazard management of the city’s contract with DocGo — the controversial medical services company hired by Mayor Adams to provide shelter and casework for asylum seekers (despite being grossly under-qualified to do so).
When Mayor Adams announced a hasty $432 million no-bid contract with DocGo, my office immediately launched an investigation.

Yesterday we announced the audit results. Here’s what we found:
Millions of dollars recklessly misspent on unauthorized subcontractors and unused hotel rooms.
Insufficient staffing of caseworkers and social workers to help migrants get work authorization, move out of shelter, and get on their feet.
And living quarters riddled with health and safety hazards — from moldy, leaking ceilings to infestations.
In short, thousands of asylum seekers made the hard decision to travel here and seek safety in the greatest city in the world — and instead were met with DocGo’s inadequate and neglectful services and unlivable shelter.
It’s unacceptable.
After months of my sounding the alarm, the Adams Administration finally heeded my advice and decided to part ways with DocGo. But honestly, John, it’s too little too late. Now the city must immediately recoup millions of wasted taxpayer dollars.
New York City needs stronger, more compassionate leadership to handle its biggest challenges. Will you chip in $10 or more to support my campaign for Mayor and help me deliver the leadership NYC deserves to City Hall? [[link removed]]
