We’re going to level with you here.

No Veteran who is voting for Kamala Harris or Tim Walz believes the lies that JD Vance and the Trump campaign are trying to tell about Walz and his service in the National Guard.

We’d speculate that no Veteran who is voting AGAINST Kamala Harris or Tim Walz believes the lies that are being told about Walz, either — JD Vance included. They know it’s bullshit.

So, why are they doing it?

People like JD Vance are spreading these lies because they know that most Americans don’t have a strong understanding of what Military service looks like. They love the Troops, they respect them, but they wouldn’t know a WARNO from a DD214. And JD Vance, Trump, and the MAGA-right are spreading these lies to try and take advantage of that.

In short, it’s a cynical political play. They don’t care about insulting countless Veterans who served just as honorably as Tim did. They don’t care about the damage it does to the institution. All they care about is politics.

It’s sad. But we’re not dwelling on that over here at VoteVets. We know the truth, and it’s our job to correct the record. We’re happy to do it, and we’re not alone.

Tons of people have already shared our fact checks, including Hillary Clinton. We are winning this fight. But we can’t let up, we can’t let Vance and the MAGA-right get away with this.
